Five Question Friday

This week I'm joining My Little Life: Five Question Friday!!

1. How many pets do you have? We have two dogs. Molly is a minature dachshund and Bear is a mix of lab and basset hound.Molly was a Valentines Day gift from Nathan on our first Valentines after we married and Bear we rescued from the pound. Natalie loves her dogs and enjoys serving them tea and cookies!!

2. If you could switch places with anyone in the world for one day, who would it be?
This is a hard one...I don't think I would pick anyone. I love the life that God has blessed me with and would not want to walk in any other shoes. But if you are going to make me choose, I would want to switch places with.....well I can not think of one person!!

3. What is your favorite money saving tips? Ask yourself is it a need or a want! I have had to learn to ask myself this question many times since quitting work to stay at home. If the answer is that it is a want then I walk away and sleep on it and think about whether if it is truly something I want to spend the money on. If it is something I still feel like I want then save the money to buy it. Asking myself this questions has made me stop and think which in turn has saved me money.

4. What do you want your kids to be when they grow up?
I don't have a preference of what my kids do when they grow up. All I want for them is to love the Lord, be law abiding and happy in whatever path they choose.

5. What is your favorite quote?
My soul finds rest in God alone; my salvation comes from him.
Psalm 62:1

I can do everything through him who gives me strength.
Philippians 4:13

Maybe an Astronaut

A few weeks ago, while shopping at the mall Natalie asked (she pointed and said "ride") to ride one of those kid rides that you see everywhere. She has rode them before a while ago and enjoyed it. She climbed up into the space ship and I started it.

I thought she was enjoying until all of a sudden she started crying.....and when I say crying I mean the type of crying that make people stop and stare and make you feel like the worst parent ever!!

I guess we can mark off astronaut as a future job!!

36 Weeks

I don't go to the doctor till later this week so we won't know how things are progressing until then. I did want to post a 36 week pic! I want to be sure to take a picture every week up until I deliver so I can see how I change up until delivery!! I have been extremely sore this past week. My back and hips are the worse at night and my belly feels as if it could not stretch anymore! It also feel that Brody is also sitting lower then we has in the past week. He does not seem to be kicking me so much in the ribs but lower. I have been trying to get out a walk around more then usual (hopefully to get things moving). I'm looking forward to seeing what the doctor says Thursday :)

*Natalie was having a complete meltdown while we were taking these pics.*

Feeding the Ducks

Yesterday we took Natalie downtown to feed the ducks at the local park. There were ducks and pigeons everywhere. Natalie seemed to enjoy throwing the bread to the ducks and watching them eat it.

The only problem we encountered were the KILLER GEESE! Yes, they have these huge geese that will stop at nothing to get to the bread. Some were bigger then Natalie. I thought I was going to have to start kicking them to keep them away. I told Nathan that if they got any closer I was going to be bringing one home and putting it in my crock pot for dinner :)

We finally found the pretty white ducks. Well, until the killer geese came from every direction. After our second encounter with the geese we were done. Natalie did not seem to mind them to much expect when they were following us as we walked.

This Week So Far

So far this week we have been doing a lot of

this

this

and some of this

We have been hanging out, playing, watching some cartoons, eating and relaxing. We did venture out today for a few hours. I got my hair done and Natalie and I went to T.J. Max and picked up a few bargains. We had a busy weekend so it has been nice just to sit home and relax with an occasional cleaning and project doing thrown in here and there!!

34/35 Weeks

I decided to combine Week 34 and 35 since I'm not posting this until late in the week. I'm still 34 weeks but I'm almost to 35 weeks. We are getting extremely close to the end of this pregnancy. I am filled with so many emotions, but I'll share more of that in a later post.

I'm looking pretty rough today. We had been out in the heat doing some shopping all day and I was completely worn out and still had a few more errands to run.

Pregnancy Highlights:
How Far Along: 34/35 weeks
Total Weight Gain/Loss: I'm not sure, maybe 15 pds total
Maternity Clothes: It's all I can fit into these days
Best Moment this week: Working on Brody's nursery.
Gender: It's A Boy - Brody Nathaniel
Movement: Yes, he is still hanging out in my rib cage and poking around. It does not bother me much except when he gets real active and repeatedly kicks and moves around up there.
Food Craving: chocolate milk.....we have gone through 3 gallons of milk in one week.
What I miss: Sleeping on my belly and sleeping through the night!
Sleep: The past week I have been sleeping pretty good. I get up about 3-5 times a night to use the bathroom then usually go back to sleep easily.
What I am looking forward to: Finishing up shopping and working on the final detail of his nursery.
Belly Button: Flush with my stomach, sometimes I think it pokes it self out.
Symptoms: Tired and Braxton Hicks contractions with a few real contractions thrown in there. I have been having tons of pressure so while at the doctors office this week, she decided to check and make sure I was not progressing....and guess what....nothing. She will start checking me every weekly when I go back on the 26th.

"God Gave Us You"

Nathan and I started a new bedtime routine with Natalie this week, we have started reading a book or two to her before bedtime. Tonight I picked up "God Gave Us You" by Lisa Tawn Bergren. To be be honest I have never read this book before, I bought it and placed it in her closet were I keep all books that I don't want her playing with (our reading books) and forgot about it till tonight. I was just amazed how much this story range truth. Only God could have blessed Nathan and I with Natalie. Through out the entire stroy the same sentece keep reapeating "Because God gave us you" The pray that mama bear prayed for the baby growing inside of her range deep inside of me..

"I prayed that your bones would be straight and your heart
would be strong. but most of all, I prayed that some
day you would
love God."

While pregnant with Natalie and during this pregnancy I have prayed for God to watch over my babies, keeep them safe and growing and for them to be deleived safetly to my waiting arms. And that someday they would love God, as Nathan and I do.

This book has quickly become a favorite of mine and look forward to continue to read it to Natalie and I can't wait to be able to read it to Brody!!

Brody's Shower

A few weeks ago my mom threw me a baby shower for Brody. I had a great turnout and received tons of things for Brody. I got things I needed and some really cute outfits. I had a great time visiting with everyone and enjoying their company.

Dessert Table

Sugar cookies with B's!

I love cupcakes so I was excited to see them. They were my favorite, PUBLIX. They make the best cupcakes!

Candy Table. This was a huge hit with everyone, especially the kids!

Thank you gifts. My mom made homemade hand scrub. It smells awesome and I love it. I think I may have to start making it and keeping it around the house!

Natalie helped open gifts.

I love this outfit. It has a firetruck with a puppy on it!

Leah and Amy both got Natalie gifts. Leah gave Natalie a cute jewelry set and Amy gave Natalie two cute outfits. I love that they thought about Natalie.

Natalie hanging out on Brody's bedding!

I had a great time and appreciate everyone who was able to make it and share in Nathan and my excitement in welcoming out baby boy. Next stop hospital...in about 4-5 weeks :)

A Week in Reveiw

This week we have been hanging out and doing a lot of nothing yet for some reason I feel as I have been running around with my head cut off!! Natalie has had a busy week......

Saturday, she was the Big Sister of the party at my baby shower. She was absolutely adorable in her big sister shirt. She enjoyed running around with her cousins and eating a ton of sugar!

Monday, we were busy building towers in the living room. Natalie has become smitten with her blocks this week. She loves dragging them into the living room and building towers as high as she can and then watching them fall over. She just laughs and laughs, then begins building again.

Tuesday, Natalie and I had to run into town and pick up a video I had pre ordered. We were going to do a little shopping but I was not feeling very good and could not find anything I wanted at Target. I decided not to over do it and we headed home and relaxed the rest of the day.

Wednesday, Jenna and Caroline came over to hand out for the day. They played, played, ate, napped, played and played. Those three don't slow down for much. Natalie had a great time playing with her cousins. She is very good at playing by herself but loves it when someone comes over and plays with her. By bedtime Natalie was exhausted.

Thursday, was what I like to call pajama day. We stayed at home in our pajamas all day. Natalie finally go around of watching her new movie, Veggie Tales Sweetpea Beauty.

I know she does not fully understand the message but she actually paid more attention to the movie then I thought she would. The rest of the day she hung out in a box!

And just cheesing at the camera.

I'm enjoying the small things with Natalie. I love just hanging out with her in our p.j. playing and watching cartoons. I know life will be getting a little bit (okay, okay A LOT) busier in the next couple of weeks and just want to be able to enjoy the moments with her. Potty training has been but on the back burner for now. I want to wait until Brody comes and we all get into a new routine before starting. I think if we work hard at getting her potty trained right now, she will just revert back when Brody arrives. We will pick it back up after we all settle into our new rountine and she is comfortable with having a baby brother in the house :) We are only 5 weeks (give or take) before we welcome the new babe into our home and we still have a lot of things to get done. Hopefully I'll get to packing my hospital bag soon!!
