Home Alone

That's right....Nathan and Natalie are being left home alone for the weekend. I'm off her a fun exciting weekend in Sevierville, Tn. I'm headed for the Women of Joy Conference and tons of shopping. I don't know what I'm more exciting for the weekend with just the girl, meeting Kirk Cameron, for the outlet mall. With the excitement comes anxiety. I have spent two nights away from Natalie on two different occasions. I won't be alone in this journey, Kim (a friend of mine) will be coming along and she was NEVER been away from 8 month old Albrey for a night. We are determined to make this weekend as fun as possible with our hubby home withe the babes.

Here is Natalie helping me pack for my trip!!

I'll see everyone when I get back!! I'm sure I'll have some fun stories to tell about Nathan and Natalie's weekend home!!!

Another First

We have had another first this weekend. Natalie has her first tooth!!! It just came through and is still growing but definitely there. This would explain all the fussiness and droll from the past week!! Sorry no pictures of the tooth, She refuses to show it to us. The only way we knew it was there was she bit down on my hand last night and it was not the gummy bite I was expecting!!!

Here are some pictures last week that I did not get around to posting!!!

Happy Easter

Natalie's first Easter was filled with church and family. This morning we went to church and celebrate our Lord and Savior and then off to visit the families. Our first stop was Memaw Rosemary's. We ate a little lunch then had a Easter egg hunt outside. Natalie and Nathan only found one egg (I don't think Nathan was looking hard enough). After we spent some time with the Reeds it was time to head to Pappy's and Nana's. We ate lunch again and had another Easter egg hunt. This time Natalie sat on the side lines with Pappy while Nathan, Tonya, Lexi, and I searched for eggs. Mom hide money in some of the eggs so you know the hunt was on. Lexi found all the big bucks!!!! After a long day, Nathan head to work and Natalie and I went home to relax the rest of the night.

Here is a slide show of our day!!!

Doctor, Tornados, and Brithday Party, OH MY

Today has been one up down up down day. It started out EARLY this morning. Natalie did not sleep well last night. Cough and congested all night and up about every hour and pulling at her ear. We decided to take her to the doctor to see what was going on since we could not figure out if she was getting a ear ache or just fascinated with her ear!! After running around this morning trying to get ready and out the door in half an hour we finally made it to the doctor. She checked out semi. No eat ache but a small upper respiratory infection. Since she is so young we are limited to what we can give her. He gave us a low dose medication to see if that can knock it out. The doctor said she was good to be around other children so our weekend is going ahead as planned. After the doctor appointment we decided to sneak in a trip to me new second favorite store, Sams Club, before the storms came. It will never compare to Target, but 2nd. We eat lunch and walked around Sams while Natalie slept. We decided it was time to get home before it stated raining.

When we got home Nathan was working in the garage and I flipped on the t.v only to realize there was a tornado warning in the next county and coming straight for us. About an hour later Natalie and I were hunkered (now that's a southern word for you) down in the bath tub listening to the hail and wind wiping around. After about 20 minutes of us all stuffed into our tiny hall bathroom we were able to come out unharmed. Luckily not everybody was as lucky. A few other counties got hit hard with a tornado or two. Even though this was not Natalie first sever storm but first time having to hunker down and her Momma being a little scared. Ahhh the joys of an Alabama spring. After 10 minutes in the tub it was safe to came out. No damage just a lot of wind and hail. The next county over from us had some pretty bad damage from a tornado. We got skipped again this week!!!!

After the excitment of the weather, We had Jenna's (Nathan and my neice) birthday party. It was Natalies first birthday party. We eat pizza, cake and opened presents. After a long day it was nice to get home and go to bed.

Spring Cleaning

It is that time again!!!! Spring cleaning. This year we really needed it. Our kitchen, bedroom, and spare room have accumulated so much stuff over the past year it is unbelievable. So, for the next week or two my plan is to clean, organize, and get rid of the junk. We have a few big projects planned, new carpet and paint for the bedrooms, tile the kitchen, and hopefully new counter tops. I have some other projects I'm slowly working on. Enough about that....

Today was a nasty day outside. Cold, rainy and windy. YUCK!!!! On the positive side, Natalie got a chance to were some of were cold weather clothes that I thought she would never get to wear. When I found out I was having a girl, I went crazy at Gymboree (I still go crazy in that store). I figured so would be in 3-6 month clothes around January so I purchased some really cute shirts, a dress and a sweater. Well at 5 months She is still in o-3 months, and 3 months clothing. Some of the 3 month pants are still to big, but are good in the length. On the my favorite shirts I decided to put on her today. It actually looked really cute, a little big but still adorable!!!

5 Months

We had a busy weekend. Saturday we hosted a Tool & Gadget Party for our friends Chris and Amy, who are getting married in May. The party turned out great. The weather was beautiful. After the party we headed out to their house and hung out.

Today Natalie turned 5 months. I can't believe she is 5 months. Natalie and I went to church, then went into town to visit Nana and Pappy. After that we went by the fire station to visit Nathan. Then headed home to rest for the remainder of the evening. Natalie has been teething for a couple of months now but it has been really bothering her this weekend. She has been extremely fussy this weekend. I'm hopping she pops a tooth out soon because I don't know how much of this I'm gonna be able to take. I hate seeing her not feeling good and fussy when she is usually a happy baby.

I did not get a picture of her today since most of the day she was fussin up a storm, this picture is from last week!!!!!
Natalie has also been moving all over her crib during the night and morning. We lay her down in the in the middle of her crib in a sleep positioner and in the morning she is usually also somewhere else. Last week we found her turned 180 and in the corner of her crib just a playing.

Weather Aware

Yesterday we experienced some bad weather. It was a first for Natalie!!! She was super cute sitting in front of the TV watching the weather. She was one weather alert baby. She was prepared with her footed p.j., paci, tag blanket and sea horse, if we did have to hunker down (as they say here) she had everything she needed.

It did get pretty bad once but nothing to get all excited about. That's just the weather around here, one minute it can be sunny and warm, the next freezing and snowing and the next day storming. That is just the crazy Alabama weather. They say if you don't like the weather here.....wait a day it will change. How true that is!!!

One year ago we were sitting in a doctors office getting our first glimpse at our beautiful daughter and hearing her heart beat for the very first time. It was an extremely emotional day for Nathan and I. We did not know what to expect and trying not to get our hopes up due to the fact of our last visit did not end well. I remember having terrible dreams before ranging from my baby looking like a big fat toad too not hearing a heart-beat. Since we know how the story ends we will not go into that, but just in case you forget, God blessed us with an amazing, healthy daughter 7 months later. It amazes me still today how

This tiny little baby

Can grow into a happy, almost 5 month old
"For you created my inmost being; you knit me together in my mother's womb. I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made; your works are wonderful, I know that full well.
My frame was not hidden from you when I was made in the secret place. When I was woven together in the depths of the earth, your eyes saw my unformed body. All the days ordained for me were written in your book before one of them came to be. How precious to me are your thoughts, O God! How vast is the sum of them" Psalm 139:13-17
